Romaine (Trigga Api) Pinnock was born in May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica to Doreen Mullings and James Pinnock in the mid 80s, the second and youngest child for his mother. He has little/next to no childhood memories of his dad.  He was forced to move around a lot as a child to different neighborhoods to accommodate his mother’s financial situation and job accessibility. When he was 12 his mother moved to the Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI). Two years later he moved there to be with her. Then returned to Jamaica two years later to finish high school.

He later decided to quit high school to follow his dreams as a rapper, which started out with him writing poetry at the age of 12. He later returned to TCI to be with his mother and older brother Orane, who was a singer with a group of friends now known as “Blakout Crew”. He was then introduced to E-Swann, Jabba Da Don and others. He started out by assisting backstage, in the studio and as a hype man on stage. He was then introduced to the TCI public as an artist on a song “It Happens” - performing his 8 bars verse with the group. And was later introduced to the TCI radio air waves on his own song “If I Fail”, a song produced by E-Swann and featuring Orane. He then went on to making and performing songs as a member of the group.
